Job Summary and Responsibilities

A Senior Field Technician - Staffing is responsible for overseeing and performing the installation, maintenance, and repair of telecommunication equipment and networks.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned:

Your role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining the networks that enable communication services. Here are some key aspects of your job:

  • Lead field operations: Supervise and direct other technicians, schedule work, and ensure that installation, maintenance, and repairs are completed according to project requirement.
  • Install and commission telecommunication equipments, such as antennas, cables, routers, switches, and servers, and ensure that the equipment is functioning properly.
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting on network issues, using testing equipment, analyzing network data, and working with other teams to identify the root cause of the problem.
  • Repair telecommunication equipments, including replacing faulty parts, reconfiguring networks, and resolving complex issues.
  • Document all work performed, including installation, maintenance, and repairs, in a detailed and accurate manner.
  • Provide technical support to customers and other teams, including answering questions and providing solutions to complex technical problems.
  • Mentor and train other technicians, providing guidance, feedback, and support to help them develop their skills and knowledge.
  • Maintain an inventory of equipments, tools, and spare parts to ensure that all necessary supplies are available for installations, maintenance, and repairs.

Qualifications

    • High school diploma or
    • Willingness and ability climb ladder
    • Willingness to work in any type of weather
    • Willingness to drive and work in the mountains
    • Willingness to work Night Shift – Maintenance Window
    • 5-7 years of experience in the telecommunications industry, with extensive experience in installation, maintenance, and repair of telecommunication equipment and networks.
    • Familiarity with testing equipment, such as power meters, spectrum analyzers, and signal
    • Good understanding of radio network protocols, such as GSM, CDMA, UMTS, LTE and 5G technologies.
    • Good understanding of backhaul and fronthaul network topologies and current transport related components.
    • Recent experience with RF or transport related OEMs (Ericsson, Nokia, Samsung)
    • Working experience with base station equipment and current coverage solutions employed in the wireless telecommunications industry.
    • Call testing experience to support network functionality.
    • Excellent communication and documentation
    • Willingness to travel and work in a field environment
    • Ability to lead and work in a team
    • Physical ability to climb towers, lift heavy equipment, and work in challenging outdoor
